Investigators are the research scientists who develop the ideas for the research and make sure the research is conducted as designed. They are also the ones who will present and publish the results of the research studies. The NC-CADDRE investigators work with investigators at collaborating CADDRE sites across the country.

Dr. Julie Daniels, PhD, Principal Investigator, CDE and SEED
Dr. Daniels is Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Maternal and Child Health at UNC-Chapel Hill. She oversees all aspects of both the CDE and SEED projects.

Dr. Arthur Aylsworth, MD, Co-investigator, SEED
Dr. Aylsworth is a pediatric geneticist and Professor of Pediatric Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill. He oversees the physical exams done on children participating in SEED.

Dr. Rebecca Edmondson Pretzel, PhD, Co-investigator, SEED
Dr. Pretzel is the Director of Clinical Services at the UNC Clinical Center for the Study of Development and Learning and Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UNC-Chapel Hill. She oversees the autism-specific developmental assessments done for SEED and conducts developmental assessments on children participating in SEED.

Dr. Amy Herring, ScD, Co-investigator, SEED
Dr. Herring is Associate Professor of Biostatistics and Director of the Training Program in Environmental Biostatistics at UNC-Chapel Hill. She oversees all statistical analyses of data collected for SEED.

Dr. Piven is Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Research Center at UNC-Chapel Hill where he specializes in autism research, specifically the genetics of autism.

Dr. Reinhartsen is Director of Dissemination at the UNC Clinical Center for the Study of Development and Learning and Clinical Assistant Professor of Allied Health Sciences, Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences at UNC-Chapel Hill. She conducts developmental assessments on children participating in SEED.
