SEED Study Team

These staff members organize the research activities and collect study data from families participating in SEED. They work with Children's Developmental Service Agencies, the NC Vital Records office, and the UNC Research Registry to recruit families for participation in this study.

Chyrise Bradley, MA
Ms. Bradley is the Project Coordinator for SEED under the NC-CADDRE. She oversees the participant enrollment and study activities.

Craig Clement
Mr. Clement is a study Research Assistant. He assists families with preparing for and completing their clinic visits for the study.

Rebecca Edmondson Pretzel, PhD
Dr. Pretzel is a pediatric psychologist at the CDL and has many years of experience in assessment and treatment planning for young children with autism and other developmental disabilities and their families. She is one of the clinicians performing the child development assessments for the study.

Betsy Glaser, PNP
Ms. Glaser is a pediatric nurse practitioner at the CDL. She conducts the brief physical exam on the children participating in the study.

Matt Herr
Mr. Herr is the Clinic Visit Coordinator. He assists families with preparing for and completing their clinic visits for the study.


Patricia Leonard
Ms. Leonard is a study Research Assistant. She calls families to invite them to participate in the study. She also schedules study appointments and answers questions from subjects who call the SEED Helpline.


Jean Mankowski, PhD
Dr. Mankowski is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the CDL. She is one of the clinicians performing the child development assessments.


Signe Boucher Naftel, PhD
Dr. Naftel is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the CDL. She is one of the clinicians performing the child development assessments.


Lisa Parrott
Ms. Parrott is the Interview and Call Coordinator. She oversees the day-to-day phone contacts with subjects and conducts our caregiver interviews.

Debra B. Reinhartsen, PhD, CCC-SLP
Dr. Reinhartsen is a Speech and Language Pathologist at the CDL and has many years of experience working with young children with a wide range of developmental and physical disabilities. She is one of the clinicians performing the child development assessments.
